Majed Al Suwaidi is the Managing Director for Dubai Internet City (DIC), the MENA region’s largest ICT hub and Dubai Outsource Zone (DOZ), a modern, hi-tech business hub dedicated to the growth of the global outsourcing industry.
In his capacity as MD, Majed is responsible for furthering the success of DIC and DOZ and works to ensure the effective implementation of TECOM Investments’ overarching strategy; to be a world-class developer and operator of business parks delivering maximum value to shareholders, sustaining efficiency and improving market share.
Majed has played a leading role in supporting and nourishing SMEs within DIC and he is responsible for overseeing the in5 innovation hub which aims to foster and promote entrepreneurship and innovation in order to develop a technology start-up ecosystem in Dubai. Through in5, Majed has driven the growth of the tech start-up industry in the UAE, and created a dynamic and engaging working environment for entrepreneurs from the early stages of idea creation through to the commercial launch of a product or service.
Since the establishment of DIC and DOZ in 2000 and 2007 respectively, both business parks have successfully developed prosperous ecosystems for technology and outsourcing organisations from all elements of the value chain. DIC is home to some of the top Fortune 500 companies, and is a catalyst for the growth of the IT industry in the region. Majed has played an instrumental role in the growth and development of DIC and DOZ, and has effectively implemented growth strategies to develop a distinctive business park proposition.
Prior to his current role, Majed was the Director of Business Development for DIC and DOZ where he developed and delivered the business parks’ strategy of business partner acquisition and retention.
Majed holds a Masters degree in Business Administration, and spent five years working at Emirates Airlines and as a key member of the business development team at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
